Times have changed, we know this. So, it’s only logical that the dating advice we follow should change too. But, what type of old dating advice should you lay to rest?

1. Love will find you when you least expect it.

Of course there are instances in life where we get pleasant surprises. It’s the same in love. However, these surprises may or may never come. One can’t really know, so it when it comes to meeting people, you have to be proactive and put yourself out there.

2. They’re out of your league.

We used to think that we should only date people who are “the same” as us. If we’re not attractive, in our opinion, then we should also date people who are in the same level as us. However, who ever said that people have to be categorized according to level? This doesn’t work in the modern age anymore. You can date and approach whoever you want.

3. You’ll know right away.

They say you’ll know love when it comes walking in the front door. That may be true, but you can’t always judge a book by its cover. Sometimes, you have to give people a second chance so you can really see what they are all about. Don’t expect a spark on the first date. Sometimes it happens, but sometimes it happens on the second or third date.
