The Non-Awkward Way Of Encouraging Your Partner To Be Physically Fit

Who is more physically fit? Is it you, or is it your partner? Sometimes, when you’re the one who’s more active, asking your partner to lose a few pounds can get awkward. You wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings, but, at the same time, you would like them to be more physically fit or, at the very least, improve their health.

Can You Be More Physically Fit?

Don’t worry. It’s normal to think that an awkward situation may arise from you asking your partner if they can be more physically fit. You’d still have to convey the message, of course, but there are other ways to do it than just plainly blurting out “you need to lose some weight, dear.”

1. Lead By Example

Are you physically fit yourself? If not, maybe it’s time for you to start moving too. When your partner sees how dedicated you are, he or she will be more encouraged. And, it’s not just with exercise too. You need to set an example in the choices of food you eat.

2. More Outdoor Activities Together

When was the last time you and your partner went on a hike during a lovely day? Outdoor activities are a great alternative to going to the gym, so if you’re not the type of couple who works out, try being outdoors together. You can even make it into adventure dates and add a bit of wine to the mix.

3. Ask Your Partner To Help You

Yes, we know that it’s not you who needs help but your partner. This tactic is actually similar to reverse psychology. You tell him or her that you are trying to lose a few inches off your waist so your relationship becomes steamier. As soon as your partner hears this, he or she will be more than willing to run with you every morning.

You see there are plenty of non-awkward and creative ways to tell your boyfriend or girlfriend to lose some weight. The best way to do it is to really show your support by doing the healthy routines together. As long as you and your partner are consistent, you’ll be hitting two birds with one stone since both of you have had become more active.
